Code of Ethics

Join the Aesthetic Association of Florida Community

The Aesthetic Association of Florida, Inc. (AAFL) is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards within the aesthetic industry. This Code of Ethics serves as a guiding framework for aestheticians, doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, business owners, managers, school instructors, and students to promote professionalism, integrity, and excellence in aesthetic practice.


Professional Integrity

  • Members shall act with honesty, fairness, and transparency in all professional dealings.
  • Misrepresentation of skills, qualifications, or services is strictly prohibited.
  • Confidentiality of client information shall be maintained at all times.


Client Care and Safety

  • Members shall prioritize client health, safety, and well-being above all else.
  • Procedures shall only be performed within the scope of practice and legal authorization.
  • Proper sanitation, hygiene, and infection control measures must be adhered to at      all times.
  • Clients must receive accurate information about treatments, risks, benefits, and alternatives.


Compliance with Laws and Regulations

  • All members shall comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing      aesthetic practices.
  • Proper licensure, certification, and continuing education must be maintained.
  • Unlicensed practice or delegation of tasks beyond scope is strictly prohibited.


Ethical Business Practices

  • Members shall conduct business with transparency, fairness, and honesty.
  • False advertising, deceptive marketing, or unsubstantiated claims about services shall not be used.
  • Financial transactions, including fees, refunds, and promotions, must be clear and ethical.


Professional Development and Education

  • Members are encouraged to engage in continuous education and training.
  • New techniques, products, and technologies should be researched before implementation.
  • Instructors and educators shall provide accurate and up-to-date information to students.


Respect and Non-Discrimination

  • Members shall foster an inclusive and respectful environment for clients and colleagues.
  • Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, religion, or any other protected category is not tolerated.
  • Harassment, bullying, or any form of misconduct shall be addressed promptly and professionally.


Professional Relationships and Collaboration

  • Members shall engage in respectful and professional interactions with peers and colleagues.
  • Collaboration and referrals should be made when another professional's expertise is required.
  • Conflicts of interest must be disclosed and managed ethically.


Accountability and Reporting Violations

  • Members shall hold themselves and others accountable for ethical conduct.
  • Any observed unethical or illegal behavior should be reported to the      appropriate authorities.
  • Retaliation against individuals reporting ethical concerns is prohibited.


Conclusion
By adhering to this Code of Ethics, members of the Aesthetic Association of Florida, Inc. (AAFL) contribute to the professionalism, integrity, and advancement of the aesthetic industry. Violations of this Code may result in disciplinary action, up to and including revocation of membership.
